Frequently asked questions about travel to India

Find answers to your main questions before planning your trip to India.

Do Brazilian nationals need a visa to travel to India?

Yes. Brazilian nationals holding an ordinary passport need to obtain a visa before travelling. The tourist e-Visa is available to Brazilian citizens and can be applied for entirely online. Applications must be made only through the official portal indicated by the Embassy of India in Brazil.

Is a yellow fever vaccination certificate required?

Yes. Travellers arriving from Brazil must carry the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis against yellow fever. Vaccination must take place at least ten days before arrival, and the original certificate must accompany the traveller. This requirement is stated by the Embassy of India in Brazil.

When is the best time to travel to India?

The best time depends on the regions included. In general, October to March offers more pleasant temperatures for visiting Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and much of the north. The south, mountain regions and national parks have their own climate patterns, so dates should be assessed according to the itinerary.

How many days are ideal for discovering India?

A first trip can last approximately 10 to 14 days, allowing visits to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with additional cities such as Varanasi, Udaipur or Jodhpur. Longer itineraries can include national parks, Mumbai, Kerala or combinations with Nepal and other countries.

Where should I go on a first trip to India?

Delhi, Agra and Jaipur form the Golden Triangle and offer an excellent introduction to the country. Varanasi can add a spiritual experience, while Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer deepen the journey through Rajasthan. Choose according to your interests, available time and preferred pace.

When do the Holi and Diwali festivals take place?

Dates change every year because they follow traditional calendars. Holi generally takes place between February and March, while Diwali usually falls between October and November. As demand for hotels and services is higher during these periods, we recommend planning ahead.

Can an India itinerary be customised?

Yes. The duration, cities visited, hotel category, domestic flights, private services and pace can be adapted. India can also be combined with Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, the Maldives and other Asian destinations.
