Frequently asked questions about travel to Morocco

Find answers to your main questions before planning your trip to Morocco.

Do Brazilian citizens need a visa to travel to Morocco?

No. Brazilian citizens holding ordinary passports do not need a visa for tourist visits to Morocco of up to 90 days. As entry rules may change, we recommend checking the latest requirements and required passport validity before departure. The visa exemption is confirmed by the Brazilian Embassy in Rabat.

When is the best time to travel to Morocco?

Spring and autumn generally offer more pleasant temperatures for combining cities, the Atlas Mountains and the desert. Summer can be very hot in inland areas and the Sahara, while winter brings lower temperatures, especially at night and in mountainous areas. Morocco’s official tourism authority also recommends spring and autumn for desert trips.

How many days are ideal for exploring Morocco?

For a first trip, itineraries of around 8 to 10 days allow you to combine Marrakech, some of the imperial cities and a desert experience. Trips of 10 to 12 days are more suitable for also including Chefchaouen, Fez, the Atlas Mountains and Merzouga at a more comfortable pace.

Where should I go on a first trip to Morocco?

Marrakech and Fez are among the country’s main cultural destinations. A more comprehensive trip can also include Rabat, Meknes, Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Ouarzazate, the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. The best combination depends on the time available and your interest in history, culture, landscapes or desert experiences.

What is the difference between the Agafay Desert and Merzouga?

Agafay is near Marrakech and has an arid, rocky landscape, making it a good option for shorter trips. Merzouga lies on the edge of the Sahara Desert and is known for its large dunes, offering a more extensive desert experience, although it requires longer journeys.

Is it safe to travel to Morocco?

Morocco has established tourist routes and welcomes travelers from different parts of the world. As with any destination, it is important to look after your belongings, follow local guidance and have well-organized logistics. Memphis Turismo designs itineraries taking into account journeys and the particular characteristics of each region visited.

Can a Morocco itinerary be customized?

Yes. In addition to the itineraries shown on the website, you can adapt the trip length, hotel and riad category, private services, desert experiences and cities visited. Morocco can also be part of multi-destination trips combined with other countries.
